Welcome to Year 3 at Ainslie School
In 2019 our Year 3 team comprises 2 classes:

In year 3, students move officially into the 'senior' school. They now have the choice to play in either the junior or the senior playground. Year 3 students attend senior assemblies and are eligible to attend chess and voices.
In English and Mathematics the students continue to develop skills throughout integrated units of
learning. In science, year 3 students learn about the coordinated movement of our Earth, Moon and Sun.
The year 3 camp is a fun and exciting experience. It is held in Term 4 at 'Warrambui' Retreat, near Murrumbateman. The camp runs for three days and two nights.

National test
This is the first year your child sits for the National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) test held in May. There are four tests covering numeracy, reading, writing, spelling, punctuation and grammar.
You will receive a report of your child's achievement in the tests. The results tell you how your child is progressing in these areas and can guide the learning support you give your child at home.
